Road crash hero sacked for being late for work....

advertisement

So you see a car go off the road - speed or drinking or whatever, doesn't matter...Said car ends up submerged in a river, the driver trapped behind the wheel.

What do you do ?

Do you drive past, ignoring the idiot that got himself into trouble ? After all, it doesn't affect you at all....

Most people probably wopuld, I'm ashamed to say.... But not this guy...

He and another motorist, disregarding their own safety, dived in and after breaking the window and pulled the driver to safety.

The two heros then had to receive medical treatment for injuries sustained on the sharp oyster shells in the rescue attempt. This guy was patched up (hands and feet) at the locat hospital, while the other rescuer is (at the time I write this) still in hospital awaiting hand surgery.

And because the first rescuer selflessly assisted in the rescue, and even may have saved the driver's life, he ended up being late for work - at the time of his 4:30am start he was still receiving threatment.

So instead of his employer praising his heroism, the bastards sacked him for not turning up for work !!!

Here, the video - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=AruW7Hock-8

I wish I knew who the employer was, so I could name and shame them - that's like a volunteer firefighter getting sacked for saving someone's house in a bushfire.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

He may not realize it but he's better off not working for that guy. He has changed the future for many people. Live well and prosper.
